My Story Begins....

Born and raised for two years in a pack located on a Wildlife Preservation in the lush lands of Ireland, I was a normal wolf. Learning and growing through the guidance of my Den Mother and the pack leaders. That is, until one night when I awoke to a mostly foreign metallic scent and, upon glancing around, the alpha and other pack leaders missing from the den. Short of a quick curiosity as to why they weren't in the den sleeping like the rest of us, my attention was claimed when our Den Mother came rushing in to quickly usher us out. The metallic scent grew stronger once we were out of the den. And a glance back to the area before our den granted me the sight of this lumbering and large bipedal creature. While the sight didn't scare me as it seemed to do for the rest of my pack mates, it was still confusing. With little prodding I turned and ran, only to find that, in the panic of everything, I had become separated from the rest of my pack. As I moved through the the thick trees to try and find them again, I heard a metal clink. Before I knew what was happening, I found myself trapped within a cage. A cage that felt as if it was shrinking around me. In a confusing turn of events I found myself standing far taller than ever before with the cage pieces littering the ground around me. My front paws had changed along with the rest of me; elongated with fingers and even longer claws. My momentary confusion was enough to distract me long enough that I didn't sense the evil being that came up behind me until I heard his voice.

"So, you're one of them too?"

When I spun myself around, I saw that I was face to face with one of the sources of that mettalic scent that was hanging in the air.

"No matter, you'll die just the same."

His voice growled across the air between us, the sound of it grated along my very spine. The sound of a metal hammer cocking back, confirming my suspicion that it was a gun, echoed throughout the small glade that we stood in. The sound quickly followed by what sounded like a small explosion coming from the weapon; accompanied by an intense burning pain that seared throughout my shoulder.

The next think I know, the next thing I can remember, after that pain was coming out of my mind to chaos once more. My mind had gone black, pain and rage consumed me, before I came back to find myself surrounded by four corpses; at least four that I could actually identify. I was only able to stare at the blood coated ground for seconds before I heard a howl; a call with which I instinctively ran towards. As I approached U saw more of the creatures I had seen earlier, the ones that I now resembled. It took a small bit of time but they eventually calmed me, shifting their forms back to wolves (some of which I knew!) and helped me learn how to change back into my beloved normal form. It took even more time, but slowly they helped me learn, helped me control and they helped me understand.

That is, until one day, they told me that they were sending me away. Away from my home and everything I knew. Away from my pack; my family. I trusted them, I still trust them, I do....but that didn't make what I had to do any easier. So, with quick goodbyes to my remaining pack mates, I followed my guide from my home. Regret pulled at me quickly when I discovered that I had to fly. The twelve hour flight in a long metal tube was so close to agony that I nearly went insane. Wolves were not meant to fly, I know this for certain. If they were meant to fly, Gaia would have blessed us with wings. The only thing that mildly helped me was knowing my destination. The Americas. They sent me to the Americas. My guide did their best to explain a bit about the Americas on the flight. I had hoped that he would continue on with me but my luck had seemed to run out. He brought me to an imposing structure of metal and concrete.

"Wait here, someone will come to join you. Then you'll both meet your new pack in a few days."

Those were the only words he told me before he too was gone. Being stuck alone I did the only thing I could think to do, in order to find some form of comfort and solace. I changed back into my true form and I curled up in the far corner of the cold building. The unforgiving concrete floor was a far cry from the soft turf of the Emerald Isle. I don't remember how long it was, with no windows or access to the sun I couldn't tell you how long, but eventually another joined me in my metal box. A human, by appearances, though he seemed to be missing one of his limbs. This was the other one I had been told would join me before we met our new pack.

For the few days that we were sequestered away from the rest of the world, we got to know each other. I was uncomfortable in human form, the sounds of their tongue were still a bit awkward for me; especially given my accent, but he seemed to have an easier time communicating in the bipedal form. After a few days a weathered man came to us; introducing himself as:

     "Grandfather."
